Scope and Content

The papers are the miscellaneous deposits of the Society. These include: order of service for the funeral of Henry Williamson, 1977; envelope of photographs, tape cassettes, a description of Ladywell, etc; video of Tarka the Otter; photocopies of two letters from Henry Williamson to the Savage Club; photocopies of letters from Henry Williamson to WH Busby; letter from Annabel Cash, and copy of Bygone Kent with an article on HW; photocopy of Williamson family bible.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Henry Williamson Society was formed in 1980 in order to encourage interest in, and a deeper understanding of, the life and work of Henry Williamson (1895-1977). It publishes a journal and books to further explore and promote Williamson and his work.

Custodial History

The Society has deposited a number of collections with the University since 1982. Those which have a clear archival integrity, and which were given to the Society as collections, have been given separate collection numbers. These include MS71 (Annabel Cash), MS91 (Brocard Sewell) and MS106 (Eric and Kathleen Watkins). The series here described consists of the miscellaneous deposits by the Society since 1982.
