Administrative / Biographical History

Created by Grace Hallworth during the course of her career as a writer and story-teller.

Arrangement

The collection is arranged into series based on Hallworth's original system of arrangement. Each series within the collection relates either to one title or to one reading scheme, in those cases where Hallworth produced several books for a single scheme. In addition, series GH/08 consists of letters written by school children in response to visits from Hallworth to their schools. Further information on the contents of each series can be found at series level in the catalogue.

The collection was first catalogued prior to receipt of the second batch of material, so it has been necessary to add files to the end of series GH/02 and to the end of the catalogue to accommodate the material received in the second accession. Note is made at file level where material was part of the second accession.
