Original artwork by Nicola Jennings

Collection consists of original illustrations of topical events, and cartoons and caricatures of famous individuals. Some of the artwork appeared in The Guardian between 1997 and 2009. Also includes other original pieces.

Nicola Jennings was brought up in Somerset, and attended St Mary's School, Ascot. Her further education took her to Taunton Art School, 1976-1977, and Wimbledon School of Art, 1977-1980, where she studied theatre design.

Originally trained as a theatre designer she started work designing for opera and illustrating books. She began caricaturing for The London Daily News in 1987. Five months later she moved to the Daily Mirror where she drew caricatures for the television pages until 1996. She also worked for the Sunday Times during this period.

Jennings has worked for The Observer since 1990, and The Guardian since 1991, as well as Prospect magazine. Her work has also appeared in numerous other publications and television works including Channel 4's A Week in Politics (1995-1997), and BBC 2's Midnight Hour (1994). She has also provided illustrations for Quentin Bett's '50 People Who Buggered Up Britain' and 'Bog Standard Britain'.

Nicola won Caricaturist of the Year 2008. She creates her illustrations using dip pen and ink on paper.
