Two scrapbook volumes containing examples of franks from the United Kingdom and Ireland. The covers of letters or envelopes have been pasted into the volumes apparently for the value of the franks, as opposed to any information garnered from the addresses of the recipients of the original letters. There does not appear to be any relationship between the variety of people to whom the franked addresses originally belonged, though many names appear numerous times. There are also a number of military personnel included regularly in the volumes, particularly Major John Lysaght Pennefather (1800-1872) and General George Henry Vansittart (1768-1824). Both volumes contain the bookplates of Frederick Silver though it is unclear as to if he created the collection.
