Scope and Content

Images in China depicting Christian churches, ministers and worshippers, Chinese temples, religious iconography and priests, other buildings (including bridges, houses, etc), Chinese men and women at work (particularly in agriculture), children (both Chinese & European), prisoners, entertainers, views of landscapes and numerous boats and ships. There are also a small number (ten) of images at the end of volume three which depict African men, women and children - probably in Southern Africa. No captions. One loose photograph (with note on back) in volume two.
