Scope and Content

  • Novels and other works of E.F. Benson, consisting of novels, short stories, plays, and essays
  • Correspondence, including correspondence of Edward White Benson and his wife

Administrative / Biographical History

Arthur Christopher Benson (1862-1925) and Edward Frederic Benson (1867-1940), both authors, were sons of Edward White Benson (1829-1896), Archbishop of Canterbury. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.
