Contains: operational history files for various companies 1976-1992; agricultural aviation files concerning policy, cases, complaints, statistics, flight time limitations, operator lists, certification of operators, charges, pilot licensing and training, liaison with the Royal Commission on Environmental pollution, liason with MAFF, police and other regulatory bodies, use of micro light aircraft, enquiries, annual conferences, charges, exchange of information with foreign countries, chemicals policy and aerial work files 1968-1991; files concerning dropping of chemicals, lectures on aerial crop spraying, the International Aviation Centre, Food and Environment Protection Bill and pesticides register 1978-1989; aerial application certificates 1989-1992

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) was created by the 1971 Civil Aviation Bill and replaced the Air Transport Licensing Board (ATLB). It was given a wide range of responsibilities in the field of civil aviation including regulation of air safety, airport planning policy and the setting up of an Air Travel Organizer's Licensing system (ATOL). However, its major function was air transport licensing and this included the granting of licences to agricultural aviation firms.
