Administrative / Biographical History

Ernst Leitz GmbH was a German company, founded by Ernst Leitz, which largely produced cameras and microscopes. In the 20th century they began to develop further and produce more optical products such as slide projectors. The corporation is now divided into three companies, separating the production of cameras, microscopes and geodetic equipment. The slide projector is used to project photographic slides onto a bigger screen.
