This collection consists of deeds and other legal documents deposited by Carter, Vincent & Co., of Bangor. It includes material, mainly deeds, relating to property transactions in the towns of Caernarfon and Llandudno in Caernarfonshire and parishes of Llangoed, Beaumaris, Llanidan, Llangeinwen, Llangaffo, Llanddeusant, Clynnog and Llanfechell in Anglesey. Collection also includes letters from clients, notices and various other documents relating to Montgomeryshire and Denbighshire.

Administrative / Biographical History
Carter, Vincent & Co. was a prominent, family-run firm of solicitors at Bangor, north Wales. Previous family members had been clerics before the profession of solicitor became more common. The firm's clients included prominent figures in the locality and it acted for the Penrhyn Estate and the Diocese of Bangor. The firm is still trading in 2001 as Carter, Vincent, Jones and Davis, based at the Wellfield Offices, Bangor.

Material is arranged according to which county the document relates, and then chronologically and incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts .
