The collection consists of research notes made by J.L. Whitley from study of the account book of Priscilla Bradley (ne Hine) of Nottingham. The notes are written in blue ink and begin with a short paragraph by Whitley explaining the genealogy of Priscilla. The entries from the account book cover the period 1830 to 1866 and give details about the cost of furnishing houses and stocking kitchens at the time. Some of the entries may be direct copies from the original, but many of the notes are clearly a summary or interpretation of the evidence.
