Henry Thomas Ellis was junior officer on HMS Styx, later a Royal Navy commander and author, Hong Kong to Manila (London, 1859). Styx sailed off South Africa (1852) during the Kaffir War; and (1853) sailed for Burma. During the siege of Rangoon, Styx carried wounded to hospital at Amherst, Gulf of Martaban, and went to Madras and Trincomalee. Â1 volume, 210 pp. of journal text, 1852-53.
