Administrative / Biographical History
The University of Nottingham's Association of Past Students was formed at a general meeting of past students held in March 1924. The new association held its first annual general meeting in June of the following year. Former registered day students were eligible for membership and subscription was payable annually. The first AGM minutes included discussion about: providing loans or scholarships to children of past students who wanted to enter college; seeking affiliation with the Old University Club, London; finding suitable accommodation for the association to meet in; and having separate association centres to serve members in different areas of the country. At the first meeting, 83 members were in attendance. The association retained its name until at least 1961.
