Administrative / Biographical History

Guthrie Jones & Jones, Solicitors, were based in Corwen, Merionethshire, during the 19th and 20th centuries. The firm dealt with cases in Corwen, and handled land transactions, mainly in Merionethshire and Denbighshire. Guthrie Jones & Jones collected records of a number of local government bodies in Merionethshire, including Corwen Poor Law Union, Edeirnion Highways Board and Edeirnion Rural District Council, as well as records of education and public undertakings. The firm had a separate office in Bala, Merionethshire.
