Administrative / Biographical History
Brigadier Frank Reginald Lindsay Goadby OBE (1899-1985), soldier and historian, served in the Royal Engineers from 1918 and the Royal Corps of Signals from 1921. In 1926 he joined the Indian Army, serving in the 2/3rd Silch Pioneers before his transfer to the 1st battalion 6th Rajputana Rifles in 1933. Later in his career he saw service in Southern Command, India, in Simla, Calcutta, Bihar and Bombay. He wrote a short history of Standlake church, St. Giles Church, Standlake, Oxon. (Abingdon, Abbey Press, 1965). He married Kathleen Mary Clark in 1919.
