The collection comprises a typed verbatim transcript of an audio tape of reminiscences made by Professor Trease at the British Pharmaceutical Conference in 1974. The tape was transcribed by Dr W.C. Evans of the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham.
The subjects covered in the transcript are Professor Trease's schooldays; memories of relatives and friends; his early training in pharmacy; arrival at the School, later the Department of Pharmacy at University College, Nottingham, then housed in Shakespeare Street; teaching accommodation at Shakespeare Street; his early work and publications; the new accommodation in the Trent Building in University Park, to which the Department moved in 1928; his activities in the Second World War; and reminiscences of colleagues and students up to his appointment as Head of Department in 1943. At the end of the transcript are general reflections on the changes in University life over the whole course of his career.
The transcript is accompanied by a letter of acknowledgement of the typescript received from Dr Evans, Sep. 1974.
