Scope and Content

In consideration of #1,040, John Ellis esq of Milton, Cambridgeshire, and Bridget his wife, sell to John Arrowsmith DD, Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, six closes of copyhold land called the Great Church Crofts and surrounding pasture in Chesterton, Cambridgeshire, part of the manor of Chesterton, amounting in all to 36 acres. Parts of the property are currently leased to John Frohock of Cambridge, butcher, and to William and John Witham of Cambridge, husbandmen. Reference made to the ferry between Chesterton and Barnwell. Indenture, signed by Arrowsmith, tag, with seal wanting, witnessed by Frauncis Hughes, James ?Makinson, William ?Hawker, and Richard Pettit notary public.
