Administrative / Biographical History
The Charity Commission, established in 1853, monitors the activities of charities in England and Wales, and receives information and accounts from the trustees of the charities. The Commission hands over the records to the Public Record Office (now The National Archives), which selects those meriting permanent retention there. Those not selected are offered to the relevant local record offices. This collection comprises papers concerning charities in Caernarfonshire.
