John C Oswald was a Tea trader in Foochow, China. He received the Chinese order of the Double Dragon, 3rd grade 1st degree, and medals from the Dutch (Order of Orange Nassau) and Norwegian (Order of St Olaf) governments, also a medal from the Red Cross.
