Vocabularies collected by Sir Joseph Banks during Captain James Cook's first expedition and from other sources. Some vocabularies in this volume appear to be copies of those compiled by Banks in another manuscript also held at SOAS [MS 12153].

A selection of William Marsden's manuscript collection was transferred from King's College London to SOAS shortly after the School's foundation in 1916.
