Administrative / Biographical History
Faulds Advertising Agency was established by Jim Faulds in 1985. Clientele included Royal Bank of Scotland, Scottish Power, the Scottish Executive, Kwik-Fit, EMAP, and Scottish Airports.
Faulds Advertising Group Ltd was formed in 1993 and consisted of Faulds Advertising Agency Ltd, Navigator Response Advertising (a direct marketing agency), Redpath (a graphic design consultancy), The Glasgow agency (a second advertising agency), and Magellan (a new media consultancy).
In 2001 The Faulds group had grown to be the largest marketing services group in the UK operating outside of London. Its turnover was £40 million and net pre-tax profits exceeded £1 million annually. In profitability terms, the Faulds Group was the most successful company in its sector ever seen in Scotland until its demise.
In 2001 Jim Faulds sold his majority shareholding in the group to the management of each company in a management buy-out. Dennis Chester became Chairman and owner of Faulds Advertising Agency ltd, however after several account losses the company went into receivership in September 2003.
