Scope and Content

The Rev. John Smith, D.D., Master, and the Fellows of Gonville and Caius Coll., Lords of the Manor of Buristead, Gt. Shelford, declare that, whereas they did demise and grant to Elizabeth Corney, widow, of Gt. Shelford, all the site and demesne lands of their manor for 20 years with a covenant that it should be lawful for her (save only by will) to alienate, grant, sell etc. any part thereof during the term of her lease without special license. Now we, at request of Elizabeth Corney, have granted special license to her to set over or alieante the said lease...for 20 years, provided that the person 6 months after such alienation come to us to have the same premises renewed in their proper names for the number of years unexpired...Seal of college attached.
