The papers of Sir Neil Marten served a dual function: they were the private papers of a major protagonist of opposition to Britain's membership of the EEC and the working papers for a projected book. The papers consist of:
- Correspondence and papers relating to organizations opposed to Britain's membership of the EEC
- Files of correspondence on various political topics, relating to the EEC, arranged by subject
- General correspondence mainly relating to opposition to the EEC, but including letters relating to Vietnam and Rhodesia, arranged chronologically
- Printed material
- Newspapers
