Capt John Rowland Danger of Chertsey, Surrey, HM 11th Foot (1st party), Mary his wife, their daughters and sons-in-law Phoebe Ferrall of Mecklenburgh Square, widow, Benjamin and Elizabeth Hillyard of Chertsey, Henry Moyse and Deborah Bellward of Brighton, and Caroline Danger of Chertsey, spinster (2nd parties), mortgage to John Hewitt esq of Mecklenburgh Square (4th party) their bequests and legacies under the will of Capt Danger's aunt, Mary Parkinson of Thorpe, Norfolk (d 1825), as security for the #500 which John Rowland Danger owes Hewitt. Nominal repayment date is 29 Sep 1832. For the purpose of fixing himself with notice of the assignment, William Garfit Ashton of Cambridge, gent (nephew of Mary Parkinson, and executor and trustee under her will), agrees to become a third party to the indenture. Four-part indenture, 3 pages, signed and sealed by all parties, witnessed by Richard Hill snr and Richard Hill jnr of Chancery Lane, Charles Bellingham of Brighton, solicitor, H Foster of Chertsey, and J [or T] P Hart, clerk to W G Ashton, duty stamps. Endorsed in pencil: 'William Garfit Ashton of Cambridge'. Parchment supplied by Richard Moulton of Chancery Lane, stationer.
