Administrative / Biographical History

Aberdeen Lime Co. was established in 1837 and based at Blaikie's Quay, Aberdeen. In 1930 Aberdeen Lime Co. amalgamated with the Northern Agricultural Company Limited. The company's name was changed from Aberdeen Lime Co. to Northern Agricultural and Lime Co. Ltd (NALCO) in March 1941. They operated a fertiliser plant at Blaikie's Quay.

In 1972 NALCO amalgamated with Hutcheon of Turriff (based at Rosehall, Turriff) to form RHM Agriculture (Caledonia) Ltd, a member of the Rank Hovis McDougall Group (who eventually became Dalgetty (Dalgetty Spillers)). The company was wound down in 1975.
