Administrative / Biographical History

Percy Jackson Grammar School was established by the West Riding County Council. The school was named after Sir Percy Jackson, a member of the county council from 1904 to 1937, and chairman of its education committee from 1914 to 1947.

The school was amalgamated with Adwick High School (SR127) to form a mixed comprehensive school, called Adwick School (see SR128) in 1968.
