Scope and Content

Letters from Henry Sessions Souttar to John Burdon Sanderson chiefly regarding the design and manufacture of equipment to assist in plotting and interpreting frequency curves and discussing various methods by which this might be done. One letter to Burdon Sanderson from John Newport Langley (2 November 1852 5 November 1925; physiologist) dated 7 Aug 1903. One letter and one folio of notes in German (letter unsigned, lacks final page?) dated Leipzig, 18 Aug 1903. One letter from Carl Zeiss regarding the specification of certain equipment. One letter with an unidentified signature [(?)Smith] dated 25 Feb 1900. All addressed to Burdon Sanderson. Plus one typescript copy of a letter that appears to be from Burdon Sanderson to Souttar (dated 30 November, year not given). Several of the letters appear to have been pasted into a notebook and some still have either the adhesive or the pages attached. Also one photostat copy of a diagram of some machinery.
