Scope and Content

Documents relating to the Welsh settlement in Patagonia including :

Letters addressed to R. Bryn Williams and others. Amongst the correspondents are Eluned Morgan, Gutyn Ebrill, Rev. Tudur Evans, Owen Gwyrfai, Ellen Williams and D. R. Daniel.

Essays and poetical works, some of which were produced for Eisteddfodau. Also, newspaper cuttings taken from Y Drafod and Y Rhedegydd.

Administrative / Biographical History

Richard Bryn Williams, 1902-1981, was born in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Merionethshire. As well as being a writer, he was also a historian of the Welsh settlement in Patagonia. He is the author of Y Wladfa, 1962, and several other non-fiction and fictitious books.
