Scope and Content

Diaries of Miss Tovey, as a missionary in China, 1917-18, with later diaries kept in England, 1927, and on holiday in Switzerland, June-Aug. 1932; written in The Missionaries' Anglo-Chinese Diary (Shanghai) and (1932) The Missionaries' Diary (Shanghai). The diaries for 1917 and 1918 include lists of letters sent and received, names and details of candidates for baptism, cash accounts and memoranda; those for 1927 and 1932 include some notes relating to China.
