Scope and Content

The collection contains ten architectural drawings describing an unidentified three story detached house, apparently from the late 18th century. The drawings present are for three elevations including one marked: 'end front to the offices', a section, an elevation and detail of the front porch and balcony, plans of the garret, chamber and cellar storeys, and elevation and plans of an extension. The drawings have manuscript annotations, for measurements and layouts of furniture and stairs for example. Also in the collection is a manuscript schedule providing details of keys and locks required for particular rooms and showing diagrams of key design.

Administrative / Biographical History

This small collection of plans was apparently discovered within an old library volume. Neither the house nor the architect has been identified.
