Account Book of William Birkett with His Grace Henry Duke of Newcastle; 18th May to 31st December 1799

1 account book. Appears to be the accounts for a large, mainly sheep and barley farm, with plenty of labour. Accounts for flock, stock, grain, labour (names include two Birketts), taxes and assessments etc.

The Birkett family retained its connection with the Clumber estate until at least the late nineteenth century. They were farming at Foston near Grantham in the 1930s and later moved to Leicestershire.

No archival arrangement has been necessary.
