Scope and Content

Will (incomplete, the first membrane only) of Samuel Evans, esq., of Shelley, Essex. Bequests in money; viz. £100 to two of his trustees, John Crabb, esq., of Shelley Hall, Essex, and John Scott, esq., of Shrewsbury, Shropshire; £200 to his friend Nathaniel Nicholls, esq., of Queen Street, London and to his sister Miss Sarah Nicholls. To Miss Jane Mackay (who lived with and looked after his wife and himself) £20 ... for mourning and his trustees to administer an annuity of £100 for her use. To Mary Crabb, his servant ... The residue to his 2 trustees and Nathaniel Nicholls in trust to pay the yearly proceeds to his nephew Jonathan Thomas. The sheet ends with the arrangements for paying over this trust money to his nephew.
