Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Central Land Board was established in 1947 to levy charges on new developments, and to compensate other landowners for loss of development value because of planning restrictions. There were claims for compensation and depreciation of land values because of quarrying and other mineral activities under the Town and County Planning Act 1941. In Pembrokeshire, claims were made relating to granite quarrying, sand and gravel, limesone, stone, slate, and sand extraction.
