Scope and Content

A book of religious and theological notes, notes on Acts and Matthew, translations of the doctrines of Dr William Beveridge (1637-1708), Bishop of St. Asaph and a few poems. Also, a few material papers bound into the volume such as accounts and details of taxes.

Although a note in the manuscript states that the manuscript was written by John Burchinshaw, the cataloguer believes that it is the work of four different hands.

Administrative / Biographical History

John Burchinshaw of Llansannan, Denbighshire died in 1724. According to the manuscript, he lost the use of his right hand and wrote this book with his left.

Alice daughter of Edward Burchishaw was baptised in 1731 and died in 1743.
