Scope and Content

Shakerley Marmion esq of Atterbury, Oxfordshire, and Henry Marmion of the same county, gent, acknowledge themselves bound in #300 to John Dillon and Gerard Croker. This bond underwrites an obligation by Henry Marmion and his guarantors Dillon and Croker to pay Richard Cartwright esq of Aynhow, Northamptonshire #52 10s on 26 June 1619. Signed and sealed by Shakerley and Henry Marmion, witnessed by ?Richard Cartwright and Nicholas Fordham. Endorsed with contemporary financial calculations relating to the debt, and further endorsed: 'The #77 10s 0d was paid to / Mr Cartwright the 1 April 1623'.

Found pasted in Syn 7.63.394, which was presented to the Library by Sir Sidney Gaselee on 15 June 1943. Removed from volume in March 1944.
