Records of the United Operative Cabinet and Chairmakers' Association of Scotland (No. 10 Branch, Aberdeen)

Minutes, 1897 - 1929

An Aberdeen branch of the United Operative Cabinet and Chairmakers' Association of Scotland was in existence by 1874. The annual report for 1874 shows that there were 19 members in the branch at this time, from the association's total national membership of 788. By 1939, there were 65 members of the Aberdeen branch. Amalgamation with other furniture industry unions in the later twentieth century led to the creation of the National Amalgamated Furnishing Trades Association.
