Scope and Content

In consideration of #50, John Hovell of Cambridge, saddler, assigns to Joseph Stuart of Cambridge, breeches-maker, a 28-year lease at peppercorn rent of a 'lower room ... situate in the parish of All Saints in Cambridge ... then used as the Post Office and in the occupation of [ ] Ventris', dated 24 Mar 1800. Signed and sealed by both parties, witnessed by John Cooper of Cambridge, attorney, duty stamps. Endorsed with Hovell's receipt for consideration money, same witness. Further endorsed: 'No 6' and in blue crayon: 'Cambridge'.
