Research papers, 1974-99 and undated, assembled by the donor John Freer relating to local history in Monmouthshire, including notes on Bailey Street Presbyterian Church, Bryn-mawr; Bethany Baptist Church, Llanvaches; Griffithstown Methodist Church; Hope Presbyterian Church, Pandy; Lion Street Congregational Church, Blaenavon; Llantilio Crossenny Church; Paran Presbyterian Church at Man-moel; Pen-y-waun Congregational Chapel, Llanfihangel Llantarnam; St Illtyd's Parish Church, Mamhilad; St Luke's, Pontnewynydd; Seion Independent Chapel, Rhymney; Seion Independent Chapel, Llanofer; Twyn Gwyn Baptist Church, Ynys-ddu; Underwood Baptist Free Church, Llanmartin; a guide 'Where to find places of worship in Monmouthshire?' and a list of borough, municipal and private cemeteries; together with photocopies of information sheets on the poet 'Islwyn' (Reverend William Thomas, 1832-78) and his association with Capel y Babell, Calvinistic Methodist Chapel, Ynys-ddu, produced by the Sirhowy Valley Country Park; a survey, 1974, of the Monmouthshire Canal (Crumlin Branch); and a pamphlet from an exhibition on railways and tramroads in Rogerstone, 1742-1992.
