The Scottish Hosiery Union became the Scottish branch later in 1945. In 1967 the NUHW was renamed the National Union of Hosiery and Knitwear Workers, and in 1991 it amalgamated with the National Union of Footwear, Leather and Allied Trades to form the National Union of Knitwear, Footwear and Apparel Trades.
