Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Royal Welsh Whisky was produced at the Fron-goch Distillery, near Bala (under the trading name of The Welsh Whisky Distillery Co. Ltd.) which flourished from its founding in 1887 by R. J. Lloyd Price of Rhiwlas and Robert Willis, but which nevertheless fell on hard times and was liquidated in 1900. Thereafter, the building was used in turn as an interment camp for German prisoners-of-war and Irish dissidents.
