Messrs R. K. Lucas & Son, of Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, is one of the oldest firms of surveyors, valuers, auctioneers and estate agents in Wales, having been traced back to 1789 with roots lying in the 15th and 16th centuries. The firm acted as agents for many estates in Pembrokeshire, and also administered charities and other bodies. The firm undertook the clerkship to the Trustees of Perrot's and Vawer's Charities and clerkship to Prendergast Burial Board. Sir John Perrot's Trust was a grant set up for the improvement of Haverfordwest. The firm also sold fishing licenses for the Cleddau Fishery Board. The firm acted as agent for the Scourfield family of Mote and Pentre, Williamston, Pembrokeshire, which included John Henry Philipps (1808-1876), Arthur Picton Saunders Davies Scourfield, and Henry Gwyn Saunders Davies Scourfield, and for other individuals and estates in Pembrokeshire, including John Philipps Allen Lloyd (b. 1802), James C. Yorke (fl. 1896-1927), the Lloyd Davies family of Glanafon Estate, John Wynford Philipps, Viscount St Davids, (1860-1938), the Stokes family of St Botolphs, Steynton, the Tucker-Edwardes family of Sealyham, St Dogwells, the Evans family of Treffgarn, the Scoveston Park estate, the Rind family of Allenbrook, Dale, the Massy family of Cottesmore, Prendergast, and the Mortimer family of Court Estate, Llanllawer.
