This collection consists of letters formerly in the possession of Lady Charlotte Wynn Belasyse. It includes a letter, dated 1788, from King George III to Lord Fauconberg thanking him for the offer of his house at Cheltenham and letters, dated 1801, from Queen Charlotte and her daughters, Princesses Augusta, Sophia, Matilda, Mary and Caroline to Lady Charlotte Wynn congratulating her on her marriage. Also includes correspondence, dated 1820-1821, between Mr Wynn Belasyse, Lady Charlotte and Sir B. Bloomfield on Lady Charlotte's request to be granted a peerage in her own right which the king refused.

Administrative / Biographical History
Lady Charlotte Wynn Belasyse, was the eldest daughter, by his first wife, of Henry Belasyse, 2nd Earl Fauconberg (d. 1802), a favourite of George III. She married Thomas Edward Wynn, third son of Colonel Glynn Wynn of Caernarfon, brother of Sir Thomas Wynn of Glynllifon, 1st Baron Newborough. Thomas Edward Wynn took the name Belasyse.
