Scope and Content

Papers largely consisting of course handouts and research notes made as a postgraduate student at the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies from 1976 but also teaching materials and research notes relating to feminist history and women's writing courses run by the University of Birmingham Department of Extra Mural Studies, and papers of other groups which Rebecca O'Rourke was a member of during 1979 and 1980 including the Marxist-Feminist Literature Collective, Women's Liberation groups in Birmingham, and the Women and Writing newsletter and other women's writing workshops. Papers predominantly date from the period 1976-1980 but there are also letters from Helen Graham, a PhD student at the University of York, dated 2001, which ask O'Rourke for information about her work at this time, for the purposes of her research into aspects of the women's movement
