The Powell Family of Ty'nllan, Llanfihangel-y-Pennant in Caernarfonshire (now Gwynedd) includes John Powell who died in February 1817. His sons Howell, Robert and Evan, who was an attorney at law and comptroller of the customs at Caernarfon, survived him. Other beneficiaries of the will of John Powell, who were possibly daughters or other relatives, include Ellinor and Elizabeth Powell, Margaret Evans and Jane Jones.
