Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Many stories helped inspire the formation of the British and Foreign Bible Society in 1804. In Wales, the story of Mary Jones was known by all. She walked 25 miles from Llanfihangel-y-Pennant to Bala to buy a Welsh Bible from Thomas Charles having saved her money over a period of 6 years.
Today, the British and Foreign Bible Society continues with the work of ensuring that the Bible's message is known, loved and understood.
