This series contains a miscellany of papers relating to Solly Zuckerman's activities in connection with the aftermath of the atomic bomb attacks on Japan in 1945. He was not involved in the programme to develop the bomb nor with the planning of the attacks but as an expert on the biological effects of weapons he was called upon to evaluate the findings of the teams sent to Japan to study the effects of the attacks. He was also commissioned to write an article on the atomic bomb for the journal Horizon.
The series also contains related papers by Professors Blackett and Oliphant.
