The collection consists of Poor Law records and miscellaneous documents relating to borough and parish administration.
The Poor Law records (1745-1783), concern removal, resettlement and outdoor relief of paupers, bastardy papers, including an order for arrest of a putative father and bonds of indemnification etc. Some material relates to apprenticeship including indentures of pauper children and conditions of observance.
The borough and parish administrative material (1570-1786) consists of miscellaneous items including correspondence relating to legal cases, an order for arrest, another to summon an assembly for the swearing in of a newly appointed constable, administrative accounts and lists of office holders in Conwy, such as mayors, aldermen, bailiffs and burgesses.
The fonds also contains correspondence (1949, August to October) between Emyr Gwynne Jones, librarian at the University College of North Wales (now University of Wales, Bangor) and the town clerk of Conwy relating to borough of Conwy records.
