Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The membership of Huddersfield Literary and Scientific Society included men from many walks of life. Lectures were held on topical issues of scientific and literary interest and members gathered together the nucleus of a museum collection, which was subsequently part of the Huddersfield Technical School. In due course the museum collection moved away from the Technical College into the Tolson Memorial Museum, where it remains.
