Born 1919. Deputy Head, Field Investigation Group (Operational Research), National Coal Board, London, 1951-6; Manager, Operational Research Department, Richard Thomas and Baldwins Ltd., 1956-64; visiting Professor of Operations Research, Case Institute of Technology, Cleveland, Ohio, 1963-4; Professor of Operational Research, University of Aston, Birmingham, 1966-73; Head, Operational Research and Systems Analysis Subject Group, Management Centre, University of Aston, 1973-9. Professor Cook died in 1979.
