Scope and Content

This oral history collection comprises 13 broadcasts and 1 sound effect from BBC Radio Leicester and BBC Radio Nottingham between 1967 to 1991. Recordings feature a range of BBC Radio Leicester programmes, interviews with early founders of BBC Radio Leicester, and the first BBC Radio Leicester broadcast.

Administrative / Biographical History

The items were collected personally by Maurice Ennals, the first Station Manager of Radio Leicester, the radio station that led the way in local radio provision in the United Kingdom. The Wessex Film and Sound Archive deposited the collection with the EMOHA in August 2003.
