Administrative / Biographical History

William Thomas Freemantle, of Barbot Hall, Rotherham, was a bibliographer and book collector whose Yorkshire collections came into the possession of Lord Brotherton. He published, by subscription, the very detailed A bibliography of Sheffield and vicinity : section 1, to the end of 1700 (Sheffield, 1911).
